A very popular recipe with several variations. Just fantastic with a winter roast. The use of fresh wasabi paste for flavour and fresh wasabi leaves for their amazing colour make this recipe a standout.

 

 

Ingredients

   2 tablespoons freshly prepared wasabi paste

   3 fresh wasabi leaves, finely chopped

   3-4 large mashing potatoes

   2 tablespoons butter

   2 tablespoons cream

   salt and pepper to taste

 

 

Peel potatoes, slice and place in pot. Cover with water and bring to boil then simmer for approximately 15 mins or until tender.

 

Drain the potatoes, mash then add the butter and cream and combine.

 

Gently stir in the wasabi paste and most of the chopped wasabi leaf. Add salt and pepper to taste.

 

Serve with a garnish of the remaining chopped wasabi leaf sprinkled over the top.
